Type your own numbers below. Nothing here is an industry average or a made-up benchmark; every figure in the answer comes from a number you enter, and the starting values are just examples to replace with your own.
Call the demo: (954) 417-1740 See plansA plumber's average job value is not a roofer's, and a one-truck locksmith doesn't miss calls the same way a five-crew HVAC company does. Any tool that hands you a single industry-wide "average call value" is really just guessing on your behalf, and a guess dressed up as a statistic is worse than no number at all. This tool doesn't do that. Every input above is a number you supply, and every output is that number run through plain arithmetic in front of you.
If you don't know one of the four numbers off the top of your head, that's normal. Pull your call log for the last week or two, count what came in, and take your best honest guess at the rest. You can come back and refine it once you're tracking it for real.
Step 1, find the real job calls. Missed calls per week times the share that were real potential jobs. Ten missed calls a week at 60% real gives you six real job calls missed a week; the rest were spam, wrong numbers, or people who weren't going to hire anyone.
Step 2, apply your close rate. Not every real caller would have hired you even if you'd picked up. Multiply the real job calls by your close rate to get jobs actually lost. Six real calls at a 50% close rate is three jobs lost a week.
Step 3, put a dollar figure on it. Multiply jobs lost by your average job value. Three jobs at $350 each is $1,050 lost in a single week, from calls that simply weren't answered.
Step 4, scale it up. The calculator multiplies your weekly number by 4.33 for a month and by 52 for a year, so you can see the number that actually shows up on your books over time, not just one bad week.
If that yearly figure made you wince, the fix isn't complicated: stop sending those calls to voicemail. Bella, ServiceHawk's AI receptionist, answers your business line 24/7, captures every caller's details, transfers real jobs to your phone live, and emails you a summary after every call. Answer is $99 a month with 400 minutes included. Book is $149 a month with 1,000 minutes, plus appointment booking straight into your calendar and a text follow-up to the caller. There's no setup fee, it's month to month, and you can cancel anytime.

Four multiplications, all shown on the page as you type: missed calls a week times the share that were real jobs gives you real job calls missed a week. That number times your close rate gives you jobs lost a week. Jobs lost a week times your average job value gives you dollars lost a week, which the tool then scales to a month and a year.
There's no universal number, since it depends on your trade, pricing, and how fast you follow up, which is exactly why the calculator doesn't guess one for you. Start with your best estimate from memory, for example half of the real job calls you personally answer turn into booked work, and adjust it once you start tracking your actual rate.
No. The math runs entirely in your browser with plain JavaScript. Nothing you type is sent to a server, saved, or shared. Refresh the page and the numbers reset.
It varies enormously by trade, season, and how your line is staffed, which is exactly why this tool asks for your own count instead of assuming an industry average. Pull the missed-call log from your phone or voicemail for the last week and use that real number.
